Visit of His Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Mr. Udayanga Weerathunga to Tver State Medical Academy.
Last week, on 25-26 of April, His Excellence Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialistic Republic of Sri Lanka made his 2-day visit to Tver State Medical Academy. During the visit Mr. Udayanga Weerathunga was accompanied by a large group of the diplomatic staff members of the Embassy of Sri Lanka.

The agenda of the visit was significantly rich and included working
meeting with the Rector and the President of the Tver State Medical
Academy, top academic and administrative officials, and the chief
of the Sri Lankan Students Association. The discussion was mainly
devoted to the issues of joint cooperation in the field
of international education between Tver State Medical Academy, the
Embassy and other stakeholders.
In the evening, respected Mr. Udayanga Weerathunga and his wife were
among the most outstanding guests at the Sri Lankan Cultural Festival,
presented by the TverSMA students from Sri Lanka, India and Russia with
support of the Russian Educational Center and the Cultural Center
of the Academy.
Next day morning Mr. Ambassador together with Prof. Ivanov A.G., Dean
of the International College of Medical Education, conducted a conference with more than one
hundred of Sri Lankan students currently making their undergraduate and
postgraduate studies in Tver. The students got a unique and valuable
opportunity to discuss the most crucial points related to their
studies, life in Russia, and future perspectives. As Mr. Anura
Arambage, member of the Students Union, stated: «It is extremely
important for all Sri Lankan students to feel daily support and help
coming from the Embassy and Mr. Ambassador personally...»
